Frequently asked

What does it mean when odds move before a match?

New information or money has changed the market's estimate. A shortening price means the market now rates that outcome more likely. Where the line ends up — the close — is the most accurate estimate; the direction of the move tells you which early prices were wrong.

Can you profit from predicting line movement?

We could predict the direction of moves with some accuracy and still lost money: the edge was smaller than the margin, and the bookmakers had usually moved by the time a bet could be placed. Steam chasing is in our strategy graveyard for that reason.
